A curious caravanserai of notoriety and nonsense, poetry and prophecy.

Egyptian Army Overthrows Morsi

I have hours of wajib (homework) that I haven’t started, but the Army just overthrew Mohammed Morsi in Cairo and Hélin and I are streaming/watching the Army statement live on Egyptian TV.

Defense Minister General Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi just finished speech saying that President Morsi had been removed from power due to his extreme speech on Tuesday night, forcing the army to proceed with a “roadmap” for the country’s future, beginning with temporarily suspending the Egyptian Constitution, installing an interim president, and forming a technocratic government to write and implement a new constitution.
Amazing fireworks going on in Tahrir Square in Cairo and in Alexandria, hundreds of thousands in the streets of Cairo alone.

This is so incredible. Follow it on Twitter it’s insane.
