(Dornuki looking pretty stunning in the dress I have her for Christmas!)

– The Annotated Lolita, Vladimir Nabokov (my second time trying to tackle this masterpiece)
– Guns, Germs & Steel, Jared Diamond (reading this on my phone, literally can’t stop once I start it’s totally engrossing)

(Madame Emma and Tetteh looking glamorous at Eunice Kabutey’s wedding yesterday!)

– Nasrettin Hoca Stories (see previous post)
– The King’s Messenger, David B. Ottaway (subtitle: “Prince Bandar Bin Sultan and America’s Tangled Relationship with Saudi Arabia” – this is an excellent introduction to the intersection of Cold War foreign policy and oil diplomacy, among other things)
– This Is How You Lose Her, Junot Díaz (I adore this author. Note: This book is unusually vulgar, ie I’m not giving it to DK to read when I leave even though I’ve finished it. Still totally worth reading and very engaging.)
